We’re the same 501c3 nonprofit you know and love, with a brand new name!
Why’d we change our name? We’re glad you asked! We wanted to find a name that says something about the animals we rescue and about the incredibly special place they call home.
That’s what lead us to Hoof & Thistle…
Hoof is an homage to our elderly goats and horses: these hoofed creatures were our sanctuary’s very first rescues! While our goal is to rescue a diverse mix of animals with wings, paws, and claws in the months and years to come, we’ll always have a special spot in our hearts for the first animals who we welcomed home.
Thistle is a prickly, purple flowering plant that grows in abundance on our sanctuary. A beloved snack of our elderly horses, those bright bursts of purple herald the start of summer each year.
